Bottle courtesy of nuplastikk, thank you! Pretty close to opaque ruby maroon head, tight beige head with solid lacing. Aroma of burnt toast dipped in cocoa. Taste is roasty cocoa, toasted caramel, dry finish. Tasty.

12oz bottle. Filtered looking amber-brown body. Foamy off white, glass rimming head. Pretty mellow aroma for the ABV. A pretty balanced Barleywine, which is sort or a rarity these days, when you’d just have to add yuzu and candy corn and put it in a gin barrel. Not exactly mind blowing stuff, but really captures the style well. Clean, not sticky for the ABV.

Bottle. Pours clear Ruby mahogany, medium creamy tan head, decent lacing. Aroma is nutty, market, Bready, toffee, hints of smoke. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, malty and a bit burned. Medium body. Not bad.

Pour is a clear chestnut with a small white head. Aroma is pretty much all earl grey tea. I happen to love a nice cuppa of strong earl grey so this I right up my alley. Flavor is more of sweet malt with some raison notes and then comes the bergamot from the earl grey. Finish has some black tea bitterness. Quite flavorful but then again one of these in a evening would be enough as the tea is quite strong and this is coming from someone who loves a nice black tea

On tap at Red Cow North Loop. Pours a clear earthy amber with a brown hue and a tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has lots of bread with some dark grains and a hint of molasses. Flavor has a combination of bread and dark grains with some molasses in the finish.

12oz can. Earl Grey tea in an ESB. This has got to be the low point in the Unchained series. Chalky factory ESB. Maybe it had some different character super-fresh, but this is stale and bland. Bland, uninspired, really weak stuff. Drinkable, not unlike a really boring Winter Warmer, Meh.

12oz bottle. OK. Unfiltered greyed deep brown body. Thin, foamy off-white/beige head. Just not that much deeper or richer than a regular Alt, maybe a smidge more hops. Has a lackluster malt bill, but overall a pretty enjoyable offering.

Cask gravity @ GBBF 2015. Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy finish.

Bottle from a 4 pack, tasted fresh for the first time but I suspect this will age well. I found the hops to be subdued and instead found this surprisingly rich and malt forward, but not in an overly sweet way. Very thick, heavy palate and it took me a long time to finish the one bottle, I was content to sip it slowly. Lightly sweet malt, earth, and hops are there but not nearly as strong as I expected. Barleywine is a style I often do not enjoy, but Summit did a good job with this one. Dark brown color, very low carbonation.
