(Keg at Tired Uncle’s Taproom, 20260604) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, vinous notes and alcohols. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, coconut, vinous notes, vanilla and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, coconut, wood and bitterness. A nice burnt brew with clean barrel notes. I knew I took a risk with coconut.

(Keg at Tired Uncle’s Taproom, 20260604) The beer poured yellow and almost opaque. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had mango, pineapple and citrus fruits. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were citrus fruits, resiny notes, pineapple, floralness and bitterness. Aftertaste had zesty fruits, pineapple and soft bitterness. A good hoppy brew that hid its ABV very well.

A hazy brew lacking almost every good aspect of the modern hazy beers.

(Keg at Pikkulintu Puotila, 20260525) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma was very mild and notes of honey, grass and grain. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, honey, grain and soft bitterness. Aftertaste had honey, fruitiness and bitterness. A good take on an American lager. The taste was perhaps too heavy but otherwise matches the style. Not my thing anyways.
