Can labeled Astra Premium Bier: Corn and hay nose. Golden, thick white head, with little retention. Barley and hay, tangy lemon on the edges. Medium body. Decent German lager, none of the malt sweetness of other non-German, non-US lagers. For the low cost, I could drink this pretty often.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond mid-sized foamy head. Strawy and delicately grainy pale malty aroma with hints of butter and shy traces of grassy hops far in the background. Mildly bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Subtle buttery malty taste with shy grainy notes, as well as a whiff of grassy hops, “lingering” into the slim and subtle bitter finish. Another Astrawasser, dispensable. 17.VI.14

33cl bottle at St. Pauli biergarten, Oslo. Pours clear golden with a rather small, white head. Mild malty aroma with herbal hops and hints of caramel. Moderate sweet, not the most exciting flavours, but a nice bitterness. Quite drinkable and refreshing on a sunny afternoon.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark amber, no head. Aromas of candy sugar, nuts, light spice. Taste is more of the same, but sweet, and with a sticky finish. Not so great.
