Description
Shock Top is a traditional Belgian-Style wheat ale. It was originally created in 2006 as a seasonal brew under the name Spring Heat Spiced Wheat. After collecting gold in ’06 and bronze in ’07 in the Belgian White category at the North American Beer Awards, we decided to brew year-round and switch the name to Shock Top. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. And the best decision you can make is to try some Shock Top for yourself.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of caramel, wheat and toasted bread, pretzel like indeed. The taste is wheat, caramel, spice, salt, stone fruit, burnt popcorn. Thin bodied. A novelty for sure but not bad.

12 oz bottle from Target. Nose is like a white chocolate cocoa mixed with Hersheys syrup. Clear dark brown with a medium beige head. Flavor is a sweet malty base beer with Hershey syrup mixed in, a beer version of chocolate milk. Tasty and drinkable if I was still 5 years old. Probably would sell well in France and the kids could drink it at meals instead of wine.

Bottle 12fl.oz. [ As Shock Top Honey Bourbon Cask Wheat ].Unclear matt medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, sweet candy, artificial, sweet honey - vanilla. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, sugary honey, vanilla honey, artificial honey, just very artificial. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140517]

Chocolate syrup and vanilla nose. Cola black, creamy thin tan head. Vanilla and cocoa, sweet, with a wisp of smoke on the back of the palate. Some wood and ash notes. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Probably artificial flavoring, but it works for me.

Poured a light yellow colour with no head and a bit cloudy. Scents include Granny Smaith apples, pie and cider. Flavour was of light hopps and apples. Finish is apples.

Bottle. Pumpkin malt and cinnamon/nutmeg aroma. Golden yellow with large head. Lightly sweet nutmeg, cinnamon and milky pumpkin malt flavor. Okay body. Not bad for a Shock Top.
