Description
The Lumberbeard Brewing story isn’t a complicated one. It is much like the way we like our beers: simple, straightforward, yet full of creative adventure.
Bret, our president and head brewer, fell in love with beer and the craft of brewing at the appropriate age of 21. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in economics, he pursued a sensible job in the finance world. It didn’t take long for him to realize that being at a desk was not for him and he wanted to become a professional brewer. That passion led him and his family to California where he went back to school to earn a Professional Brewing Certificate at University of San Diego. He swore he would never go back to school, but beer will make you do some crazy things. From there, Bret worked as a professional brewer for several years before taking the leap to open his own brewery in Spokane.
Lumberbeard Brewing was founded in 2018 and we are so excited to have you along for this crazy journey. We are committed to making excellent beers and desire to create a community where everyone feels welcome, cared for, and can find a beer they love!

Burk från Krzysiek, tack! 2022. Rostbrun med vitbeige krona. Doftar av vanilj, lönnsirap, fat, lite torkad frukt, kolaremmar. Stor kropp, bra hetta. Något stram. Möjligen att alkoholhalten kunde sänkas lite. Men helt ok.

16 oz can poured. Cloudy but less dense haze, golden yellow, patchy head. Okay, I don't know what it is about Nelson Sauvin hops, but they seem to make the very best IPAs. Balanced aroma of melon hops and sturdy grains. Body is much creamier than the appearance would suggest. Has a grassy note, but is overtaken by a cool citrus and melon hop character. Cool finish. Very easy drinking and flavorful, with quite the hop show off. Well constructed recipe. Delicous brew from a brewery I have learned to expect nothing less.

16oz @ Matt's new place. Appearance: almost black with no head. Aroma: boozy, barrel, some molasses, moderately sweet. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: thin for what it is, nice fruity character, not bad barrel here. Enjoyable enough.

16 oz. can, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is very boozy, with tons of bourbon barrels, toasted hazelnuts, and burnt sugars. Flavour is rich, with tons of bourbon barrels, toasted hazelnuts, and a touch of burnt sugars. Boozy but not too hot, with lots of bourbon and hazelnuts. Excellent.

On tap at Urban Family, pours a filthy reddish dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out loads of berries, maple syrup, lactose, and vanilla. Flavour is full of blueberry muffins, lactose, maple syrup, and vanilla. What an interesting concoction. The maple syrup isn't too overpowering; the palate is actually on the thin side, with plenty of tartness from the berries. Fun beer.

16 oz. can, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out rich resinous hops, some pine, a touch of overripe stone fruits, and a big caramel malt backbone. Flavour reveals a big resinous hop character upfront, backed by pitter pine, some overripe fruits, a little citrus, and a fat caramel and bready malt base that never comes too sweet. Big malt bill, but this is a WC hop bomb all the way. Nicely done even if I prefer a lighter malt treatment.
