Falling Knife Brewing Company started in the music venues of the Twin Cities. Recognizing a shared love of music, basketball, and of course, beer, Andy, Tom, and Dan moved from serious conversations amongst friends to a brewery-in-planning in the summer of 2017. After looking at several locations, the ownership team fell in love with the Mid-City neighborhood. Construction on the new space started in late 2018, and we opened our doors in summer 2019.
Falling Knife is a production brewery that features a 20-barrel brewhouse producing incredible beers, and a full-service 149-person taproom. We currently service select keg accounts with packaged beer shortly forthcoming.
Sample at GTMW 2023, 8/12/23. Hazy orange, medium tan head, good retention. Aroma of melon, mango, pale malt, vanilla. Taste is mango, pale malt, lime.
16oz can at Handle Bar Pours cloudy yellow with a medium sized off-white head that dissipates quickly, some lacing. Tropical fruit, pineapple, guava, tart, dry finish. Good
Pours a lightly hazy, peach-lemon, with mid-sized head. Aroma is citrus fruit and tropical fruit. Flavor follows, with a nice strain of passion fruit that gives it almost a saison-like touch of spice. Soft mouthfeel. Goes will with pizza.
16oz can at Slackwater in SLC. Pours hazy dirty orange with a big off-white head, good lacing. Tropical fruit, melon, pineapple, bitter citrus zest. Good
On tap at Up Down Minneapolis. Pours a hazy earthy orange with a slight gold hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dank citrus and a bit of sweet onion with a bit of marijuana supporting. Flavor is dank with grass, marijuana and earthy citrus with a marijuana bite in the finish.
Pours a moderately hazy, pale golden peach, with mid-sized head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruit. Flavor is citrus and tropical fruit and a very mild level of hop bitterness in the finish. Soft mouthfeel. This stuff is pretty good.
