Batch 2 - 6%. On tap @CAJS, of course, thanks Armando! Very dark brown, almost black body,. Medium sized off white head. Slightly mild aroma, caramel/chocolate notes (did I imagine that?) with some slightly dank hopiness and maybe lemon. Nice, full creamy body, the biggest improvement from the original. Mild roastiness (Armando said that this one is intentionally less roasty, and it’s perhaps true, but I still thought some was present) and nice hoppy notes, bitter lemon peel, quite well balanced. Long, lasting fine herbal bitter finish, slightly peppery at some point. Nothing off about it (did think I caught some slightly soapy note, but nothing to complain about), and while it doesn’t dazzle you with overtly flashy flavors, this is another great beer from Gergely - great job!Earlier Rating: 6/3/2012 Total Score: 3.7 Batch 1 - 4.5% Draft at the F-Fest. Poured an almost black body with an off whtie head. Coffee in the nose, sweet maltiness, some herbal-agrumey aroma hops too. nice roastiness getting bludgeoned by herbal hopiness, quite dry, and it’s just 4.5% wow! Softly rounded, maybe a touch soapy. The coffee and roasty notes are sorta superior to some aspects of the hopiness, but it’s a damn nice beer for its class! Thanks to armando for giving another sample too :).

On tap. Black body, creamy beige head. Aroma and taste of cocoa, caramel, chocolate and fruity hops. The aroma is a bit sulfury but not that disturbing. Other than that it’s a well made beer.

Small offwhite head Floral tropical fruit aroma with orangey notes. Dryish tropical fruit and mint taste with orangey strawy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish tropical fruit and resin aftertaste with strawy minty notes. Fresh, soft, and drinkable. Very nice. (0.4l draft at Csak a jo sörök, Budapest.)

On tap. A bit murky reddish body with a light beige head. Huge caramel notes with toast, honey and piny, citrusy, grassy hops. Taste is like the aroma, only it has mire hop character. It’s very similar to the original Grabanc, but it has more caramel sweetness to it and also more hop flavor and bitterness. Awesome beer.

reddish mahogany colour, huge, long lasting yellowish head - it appears as a chritmas beer should; aroma of citrusses, mostly grapefruit and orange peel, pine resin, and honey-like maltyness; taste is, as always in case of Armando’s beers, fully dominated by hoppy bitterness (citrussy and piney notes), however maltyness can also be felt; excellent beer for Christmas original score:8/5/9/4/17 - 4.3 re-rated on 17 Jan: ok, maybe I’m a bit biased in case of Armando’s beers (I really appreciate his mission providing us, I mean Hungarian beer-fans, with the highest quality beers from the whole World and brewing amazing beers and I admire his work), but this beer is really perfect...what a pity that it can’t be enjoyed by beer-fans outside Hungary!

On tap at Fozdefeszt. Hazy amber body, white head. Aroma of lemon zest, raspberry and some caramel with citrusy, grassy hops. Taste of raspberry, citrusy hops (quite hoppy), caramel and some bananas. Very nice beer.

Keg at ’ only good beer’ in Budapest. One if the only locals on Tap, just happened to be the Hungarian #1 beer. Not a bad IPA, above average for beer in the region

hazy bright amber colour, huge and stable off-white head; aroma of citrusy-fruity freshness, resin, alcoholic sweetness, some yeast and hints of muscat; taste is fully dominated by hoppy bitterness with pine resin, not too intensive grapefruit and some minimal alcoholic-malty sweetness;excellent Hungarian IPA; it would be in the top 50 IPA in the world if armando had the fortune to live e.g. in the US...or at least his beers would be available all over the World. Congratulations, armando.

hazy amber colour, medium yellowish off-white head; aroma of fresh citrussy hops with hints of honey, dried fruits (maybe berries and figs) and raisin; taste of pine resin, citrus, sweetness of dried fruits, significant maltyness, some bread, yeast and alcoholic notes, as well; however hops dominates the taste, surprisingly malts can also be felt - not ususal in case of beers brewed by armando. great beer, as always. Congratuilations, armando!
