Pale, and slightly cloudy yellow. Does have a slight mango aroma. More medicinal than expected, especially in the impression. Yes, going fairly sharp and astringent. Was hoping for more enjoyability but I see now that Dan is leaning towards the higher alky bitter hoppy stuff. Flat for the most part. Not impressed.

Does have a mild smell of sweet friendly fresh blueberries. Fairly pale. Just a little cloudy. Quite good on the first taste but it could be a little more tart or sweet. The blueberries come across somewhat like unsweetened koolaid at first. Yes, blueberries are there and its supported by a clean saison background. Not bad overall, one of the better fruity saisons Ive had lately.

Looks like a fairly dark sour ale. Mild sweet aroma. A little disappointed on the first taste, was expecting something sour or at least tart on the buds, but it really is not. Not much tartness in this one and to call it a sour is a little off base. Some wine flavor in there and since I like pinot noir, I approve of the mild effects it has on the taste. Just wish it was a little more sour. I must say however, if this is 10% its one of the most mild tasting 10% I’ve had.

Not much aroma, fairly sterile nose. Yes, first taste does have a ginny background but you have to look for it. Not as in yer face as with most gin beers. Very light iced tea color. Some medicinal bitterness sticks its head up in the middle and near the end. Just a little uncivilized. But I must say, for nearly 9% you’d never know it was such.

First let me say this is no way near 8%! It hides its alky muscles so well! Pinkish and slightly cloudy. Has a sweet natural smell of fresh raspberries. Goodly amount of co2. Taste is fun fun fun. Easy and civilized. Goes down so nicely. Yes, be careful of this stuff. It’ll kick your ass before you know its strong beer. Nice job Dan. Hoping the sugar in this does not burn my tummy. Overall a really nice shandy with a big alky kick that does not present itself as such. If you like shandies, this is for you but be so careful with this alky content, you’d never know unless somebody told you.

This is a very rare bomber, very few made. I’ve been holding onto this for a while, was afraid to try it but now I’m glad I did. Looks clear in the glass but there is a layer of thick sediment on the bottom of the bottle. First impression on taste is that it is a little tart and I like that. Not cloying and nor overly sweet like so many American strong ales. Is this 11%? NO WAY! The alky level cannot be in the 11% range, it is so well behaved and hides it’s boozyness so well I was thinking maybe, just maybe, it was 5%. There are some typical mild ill ale effects in there hiding in the background but overall its quite refreshing for a 11% beer, no lie! Pretty good co2 sizzle as well. Scary mild I’d say about this stuff, if you get a bottle, do not be fooled by its tart mildness. If it is really 11% you better watch out, whew. Alky is well done and balanced in this brew, clear thru to the finish. Surprisingly nice job on this one Dan, especially if I compare it to the plethora of rude American strong ales out there. Well balanced fer sure.

As usual, I was expecting some mild beer but this starts out like a medium APA then goes IPA. Pale, with a slight hops aroma. Heavy hops greet the palate fer sure. More like a stronger APA. many of these stronger APAs are not strong enough to be an IPA but I think this is. As the session continues it gets more and more in yer face. Pretty bitter in the end. If you like IPA, invert my ratings.

Look, I don’t care for the IPA style and this tastes like a strong IPA, possibly a double IPA. Quite bitter from the start. More than you’d expect from a pale ale fer sure. Dan is taking chances by going where other brewers have been with IPA. He’s getting away from those mild brews fer sure. Bitter upfront and bitter in the end this is.

I am so tired of barrel aged beers tasting like whisky, however this has a good balance. A darker iced tea color. Slight vanilla aroma, no head. Slightly tart on the uptake. Smooth easy and lacks any real over the top impact of whiskey, tho its there pleasantly riding in the background. Too many vanilla beers are over the top in vanilla and too many whisky barrel beers are too much in whisky but this seems well balanced.,

Dark, very dark. Some hazel nut in the aroma. Stronger than a typical Beaver beer. Some numbing medicinal effects. Not too bad overall. Can taste the nutty thing in there fer sure, not much tho. I’m not big on hazel nut beer but this is probably one of the better ones, heheh.

Neutral aroma. Darker iced tea color. Perhaps some orange in there. Mild first impressions. Easy campus. Cannot taste any alky in there, may be dangerous! Easy to take, could easily drink a few of these. Civilized, good job Beav - ward, I think you were a little hard on the beaver last night.
