Description
The Brauhaus Gusswerk is an innovative symbiosis of a beer bar and a brewery, a place for enjoyment, communication and cosiness. The initiator of this unique project is Salzburg's Reinhold Barta, passionate brewer. After more than ten years of organic brewing experience he realized his organic brewery in Salzburg's “Gusswerk” in 2007. Reinhold Barta's goal is to make sustainable and biodynamic beer in Austria socially acceptable. When he saw the plans of the "Gusswerk", he immediately knew: "This is where my brewery belongs." The beer should be drawn from the strength of its origin, of course with purely organic ingredients and old, natural manufacturing processes that reflect the circle of nature.

Bottled 330ml (BZ, BB 12/2012)
Hazy, murky yellow color, small steady white head. Grainy, almost woody aroma, kind of unclean yeasty notes. Light to medium bodied. Front is sweet malty. Grainy flavor, very organic feeling. Hayish hoppyness. Sticky harsh finish. As far as I remember, similar to some other Gusswerks.

Picked this up at the large Spar at Europark, Salzburg, Austria consumed at camping Knauss, Nuremberg, Germany, Tuesday 5th June 2012 Clear gold, bright with a small white head. Clean tasting, a little sweetness, seems an ok lager type beer, soft carbonation touch of light cereal but quite subtle. Likeable if not so exviting lager. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

330ml bottle. Clear dark orangey golden to amber colour with average frothy lacing off-white head. Slightly muffled earthy grainy aroma, a touch of whisky malt, a decent hay note. Dry hoppy taste, a late, shortly upcoming caramel malty note, somewhat lackadaisical finish.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, light-amber colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy layer. Bready and caramelly malty aroma with notes of baking yeast and a subtle fruity touch. Sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a calm, if not flat carbonation. Bready cara-malt character with drying hops in the background; sweet and hoppy and yeasty bitter finish with notes of alcohol shining through and caramel in the aftertaste. Not that great. 25.V.12
