Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a small foamy incredibly dark brown head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was strong cocoa, bourbon and a bit of red wine. The flavor was strong cocoa, bourbon, vanilla, a bit of anise, coconut and a boozy undertone. Long finish. Full body. Boozy but not overwhelmingly so for 10%. Excellent.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark red-brown color with a large foamy orange-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was strong black cherry and cola. The flavor was black cherry, cinnamon and cola. Medium length finish with lingering cherry. Medium body. Pleasant.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a caramel color with a huge soapy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was dry with floral and herbal hops. The flavor was bitter, dryish and tart with herbal, floral and perfumey hops. Thin and watery in both taste and texture. Long finish. Meh.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a small soapy white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was malty, sweet, fruity and had a sour mash presence. The flavor was bitter and tangy with toffee, bread and a bit of ripe fruit. Medium length finish. medium body but quite smooth. Solid.
