Cask at The Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a deep mahogany with a bubbly broken white head. The aroma is rich raisin fruit and alcohol. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a watery spice hop alcoholic palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. A really flavourful and very different beer.

Cask at the Anchor, Birmingham. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is vanilla and citrus fruit with a little caramel and liquorice. The flavour is medium bitter. Medium bodied with a weak liqourice slightly watery palate.

Cask at the Merchants Inn, Rugby, 24/07/13. Badged as ’Victory - Thick As Thieves’. Pitch black with a decent sized tan head. Nose carries a good roast malt blast, chocolate, dark toffee. Taste comprises cocoa, roast malt, mineral bite, light booze. Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. Pretty decent cask stout all told - looks the part has some bollocks and some flavour - what more do you want?

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 9/06/2012. Amber with a slight white head. Standard bitter with some cereal malts, hit of fruit and lingering, bitter finish. Fine.
