29th March 2014: Puntarenus, Costa Rica. What am I doing drinking this you my ask: well I asked for the Rock Ice (there was a bottle on show behind the random bar we found) but a clear bottle of Rock Lemon was plucked from the fridge, opened and plonked down next to me. The name gives the game away flavour wise although Rock Salt Lemon might have been a better name because the beer was both lemony and salty in nature. Refreshing but not my sort of thing. They didn’t have any of the Rock Ice, or a communication problem prevented them giving me one!

Bottle in some random bar, Puntarenus, Costa Rica on 29th March 2014: why do I drink these sort of beers? I know I don’t like them: I’ve turned into a ticker haven’t I? In my quest to drink as many different Costa Rican beers during our short stop over as possible I’ve driven myself to this sort of thing (and a bloody Rock Lemon!). Weak, and iffy in all aspects: quench your thirst with this my all means, but don’t expect a beer experience. I’d take a sip then wash your feet in it!

29th March 2014: Punteranus, Costa Rica. Once we had tried all three beers available at our first bar we decided to have a stroll around and see if we could find somewhere else to spend our Dollars: we did find somewhere and they had this along with two more new brews for me (Bavaria Light and Rock Lemon: not ideal, but a tick is a tick sometimes). Reminded me of the Dutch Bavarian Lager you can get in Holland and the UK: golden, bright and clean looking, Odourless almost and devoid of taste, but a typical lager based beer nonetheless. It was a lot better than what was to follow!

Found inside a fridge while investigating a random corner bar in Punteranus, Costa Rica on 29th March 2014. It was drier than it’s stable mates I also tried (Imperial and Silver) and I thought a better thirst quencher with a bit of style to it’s make up. Crisp, bright and clean with a hop bitterness the others failed to have: very little aroma though.
