Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.
In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

So I guess this is the place to put my rating tho mine says quilmes argentina on it. Pour is typical pale yellow. The label is the right color any who. Has a short botllers top on it. Smell is lagerlike somewhat like a mild lion brewing contraption. Taste is lagerlike of course with some hints of hay. Decent fzz in this brew. Finish is typical pale lager, you know, lite and non offensive. Comes across with manners at least. Unbelievably, I think I feel a small amount of hop bitterness in there at the very end, nearly pilsner hiding behind a lager tree.

Very typical lager, fresh taste, okay on the palate. Some mix of malts and grains, nothing too special about this one but it’s not awful either.

330 ml bottle as Quilmes Cerveza. Standard golden body with a firm white head. Vague fruity aroma. Flavor is light malty, a bit floral, quite standard makro lager, almost no bitterness. No off flavors, but boring.

I have a few Argentinian friends and I like them very much. However, I do not like their beer. I offered my friends some Cantillon gueuze and they did not like it aat all - so that sums up Argentinian beer tastes for me. Not a country for beer, sorry.

330ml bottle picked up at an Oddbins store in Earls Court. Fast vanishing, white head over a late straw coloured body. Aroma of boiled vegetables. Rare off-taste of corn and sour grass. Flat and vapid (hotel room, London 01.08.2009).
