Pours dark opaque with a thin tan head. Aroma of oaky wood with typical smoked elements. Taste has mildly bitter malt, otherwise dry, dominated by the specific raunchbier yeast strain. Palate left lingering woody notes on the nose. Good.

Pours a deep reddish amber with a foamy white head, little bit of lacing. Immediate aroma of rich, earthy malts, some caramel sweetness. Taste has very tolerable levels of the caramel note from before, nice mix of malts carry a whispering hint of yeast. Palate has some watery earthy notes on the tongue, strangely refreshing on the nose. Really good example of the style.

Pours clear golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma of corn malt. Taste has grassy malt, some light hop oils, nice honey finish that covers some acerbic malt. Palate has honey and grassy notes that blend wonderfully together on the nose. Looks cheap, tastes good.

Can (10/1/19) pour from Worldwide Wine & Spirits. Appearance is cloudy brown with reddish tinge, tons of sparkle, finger-plus width beige foamy head shrinking fairly quickly to a cap with trace lacing. Aroma is strong caramel. Taste is moderately strong caramel as aroma with milder butterscotch undertones, as advertised. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with frothy texture, average-to-lively carbonation and dry finish as taste. Overall, straightforward and reasonably strong.

Can (1/21/20) pour from Worldwide Wine & Spirits. Appearance is cloudy yellow with nice sparkle, 2-finger width foamy white head with fair retention and. lacing. Aroma is pleasant, strong lemony citrus with perhaps some hints of the other named attributes. Taste follows aroma with strong lemony citrus, hints of tropical fruit . Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, this is by no means a bad beer as it is a competent one-hop Citra IPA. For non-craft drinkers, it would be tasty and a revelation. For beer nerds, it's not novel, complex or particularly interesting--kind of 5 years ago. Good but dime a dozen.
