tap at Zwettlers Salzburg. Golden colour, tall and stable white head. Malty start, slightly bready and grainy with a touch of butter. Good hoppy hints deliver a herbal-fruity touch. Has got its very own character. Smooth and velvety, delicious.

0,5 L stein at Zwettler's. Nice, grainy aromas, with some piney hop aromas, and a bit of citrus. Sweet and malty, with a mild bitterness. Light body, with a grainy, crisp feel. This is a mild, simple, and quality beer.

0,3 L stein, at the Salzburg Christkindlmarkt. Hard to see the color in the dark, in an opaque mug, but it has a substantial, white head. Mild, spicy hopping, rye, wheat bread, and pumpernickel. Sweet and malty, with a mild bitterness. Light to medium body, with a crisp, grainy feel. This is a solid festbier, and a good first beer of our trip!

19 August 2018. At Zwettler's, Salzburg. Cheers to Anke!
Pours hazy yellow with a lasting, small, foamy, off-white head; little lacing. Aroma of white bread, yeast, yellow apple, faint banana, clove, wheat. It tastes light bready sweet, hint of apple, and light wheaty sour with a clove-like accent, slightly bitter. Dryish, grassy, yeasty finish, faintly hoppy, some spices with a citric touch at the very end. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Unimpressive, but quite okay.

Pours hazy dark amber/light brown with a lasting, small, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. Aroma of ripe plum, banana, cake, spiced cookie - cinnamon, toast, pear syrup, licorice. Medium malty sweet onset, plum & cake, some toast; bit toasted in the light spicy bitter middle. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, bit spicy, toasty effect, lingering dark fruit. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Not very complex, very drinkable though.
