16oz can pours a murky, lemony yellow with some sudsy white head. Nose is dank, green citrus, grasses, BO, light honey and very floral. Patchouli in the mouth, grassy and citrus with plenty of essential oils. Feels like the simplest of grain bills. Finishes medium bodied, off dry and oily. 8 4 7 3 14

50cl bottle pours a thick, leggy black with just a little grey head. Nose has chocolate syrup and dates, caramel, vanilla. If there are truly no adjuncts then they got a ton out of this barrel. The base beer really shines and feels like effort was put into it. Black licorice and malt and toast, caramel and chocolate and vanilla come from the barrel. Long and leggy finish. Decadent but nicely balanced.

Keg at Pizzeria Paradiso, Dupont Circle DC, 13/04/23. Clear amber with a light beige cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is biscuit, grains, toffee, brown bread, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises toffee, mellow fruit esters, caramel, biscuit, light sugar dusting. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. On the bland side ... typical for the style ... passable easy drinker.

Tap at pizza paradiso Washington DC. A clear amber orange red coloured pour with a a halo of white head. Aroma is semi sweet, nutty earthy grains, toasted makts. Flavour is composed of semi sweet nutty malts toast, rye, light toffee grassy. Good.
