Description
At Bitburger, the pure pleasure of Pilsner-style beer has a long family tradition. Since the founding of our brewery in 1817, we have dedicated ourselves fully to the quality and taste of our products. Today, seven generations and almost 200 years later, Bitburger is still in family hands – but the small business of two centuries ago has become one of the biggest breweries in Germany, and the number one player in the draught beer market. We owe the success of our company first and foremost to our employees, who bring real passion to their work for the company. For us, a sense of social responsibility is simply part of what we do. Bitburger also supports many charitable and community projects, and promotes cultural and sporting events.

Bottle. Extremely clear. Some head, bubbly. Light yellow. Smells agreeable. Some grassiness, straw. Has a good solid hops flavor throughout much of the beer. Ends on a slight watery note with some wet mossy, barnyard flavors. Touch of malt sweetness. Medium light body. Well made, nothing terribly exciting. Carbonation is fairly large and peppery. Almost a hint of white grapes or something like that on the finish.

Bottle. Pale straw-colored beer with a big pure white head. The aroma is of floral hops with a slight spiciness. It's well balanced with a fruitiness and mild bitterness with a bit of an acidic bite. Has a sweet grassy aftertaste, but overall it's a nice lighter tasting beer that's easy to drink.

Light-golden, clear; huge snow-white head, leaving good lace. Rather (pale) malty nose. Drying hay, even leafy. Just a shadow of a hint of hops. Quite bitter taste, but palate is much thinner, watery for a moment. Retronasal the (German) hops kick in with a vengeance. Nearly peppery finish. Light bodied, good carbonation. This is what a decent Pilsener is about. Nothing anybody could go wild about ever, nowt wrong.

A pale yellow beer with a fantastic head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of hay. The flavor is sweet and brewmashy ending on a slight bitterness. An average pilsener on my tastebuds - or did miss something - or maybe my expectations were just too high.

I drank this beer at the youth hostel in Koblenz, which is on top of a mountain. From the top of the mountain it's a beautiful view over the city and the fusion of the Moesel and Rhine rivers. The beer? Just another bad classical german pils. Don't waste your time.

Bottle. Golden color with an airy head that leaves a lace on the glass. Not much carbonation. Scent of hops. Taste of bread and hops. Too bitter when cold, but mellows a little when allowed to warm slightly. A full bodied pilsner, friends were angry when I bought this and said I should have known with a name like Bitburger, it would be bitter.
