Description
Founded in 1863, this private brewery with 33 employees is now in the 5th generation as a private company run by Simone, Renate and Frederike Strate.Their speciality is beer from the non-polluting swing stopper bottle.

In the last few years the Strate private brewery has developed into the second-biggest swing stopper bottler in Germany. The distribution area extends 120 km around the mash tun.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and grassy. Grassy and light cornish. Bitter and light metallic finish.

Bottle 330ml. w. swing top.[ Trade by Koelschtrinker ]. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, grain, hay, dusty, paper note, mint - bubble gum notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average duration, mint, malty, clark. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20121019]

330ml bottle. Clear dark amber colour with average to huge, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, dark malty aroma, herbal hoppy overtones. Taste is dark malty, minimally roasty, minimally spicy; dry hoppy overtones.

330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, firm, frothy, white head. Dry hoppy aroma, minimally grassy, grainy undertones. Taste is dry hoppy, acerbic; flavours fade away and just a bitter note remains in the finish.

Bottle. Golden, lowish head. Strawlike malt aroma, light dust. Bready and strawlike malt base, subdued hop balance, herbal finish. Chewy, slightly sticky, mellow sparkles. Not super exiting.

Bottle @ French Oktober-Fest Tasting Ulfborg, 2012. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Nose is paper and grain. Flavor is grass and bread. Medium bodied. Hardly any bitterness.
