We really did start off in a garage…as homebrewers first. We progressed to a 200ltr Latimer Ales brew kit, when Escape was born in February 2019. We sold our first ever commercial brew Erik Weisz in August of that year.
We stayed in the garage until January of 2021 when we moved into our current premises at Dodd Lane Business Park, Westhoughton. We now have a (second hand) 2.5-barrel brew kit from Porter Brewing Company (PBC) and 3 fermenters and are hoping to start to increase the production and brew 2/3 days per week.
Our beers are, traditional cask conditioned beers, with a gentle nod to the modern-day tastes.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours golden amber with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just hints of oranges and marmalade. In the mouth it is a continuous battle between sweet malts and bitter hops with the result fluctuating. Creamy texture anyway. Floral hops and citrus in the flavour with hints of autumn fruits and spice coming through later. Finish is slightly dry. This is decent – the citrus is subdued which makes it more refreshing.

Gravicask at The 14th Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, first day. Shared with Finn. Filmy layer to a hazy golden body, rings of lace down the glass. Moderate aromas of grass and lemony hops. Hints of passion fruits to the taste character, citric support. Rounded, mid-dry fruity ending. Easy to drink. Quite satisfying. (Nottingham 12.10.2022).

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a dark straw with a small frothy white head. Aroma is vaguely citrus and fresh ripe fruit. It the mouth it is tangy and zesty with citrus and autumn fruits. Finish is dry, bitter and hoppy. This is reasonable but not particularly memorable.
