Falkland have over 600 trees in 4 varieties – Discovery, Red Windsor, James Grieve and Rajka – these varieties were chosen because they ripen at different times during the season ensuring that there will be apples available from late August until the middle of October.
The Estate makes both cider and juice from our apples which are extremely popular and any excess apples are sold on to markets and on to manufacturers.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers. Aroma of apple, apple care, citrus and a hint of funk. Taste is a mixture of sweet and sharp. Slightly carbonated and a touch watery. Not bad

500ml bottle from Aeble cider shop. Pale golden colour, short-lived bubbly white foam head and aroma of apple, fruity. Taste is crisp, apple, fruity, alittle apple core and skin, with a vanilla hint, and some critic acidity. Medium bodied, light carbonation, drying acidic finish. Quite drinkable.
