Description
"It all started in 1980… Hugh Sisson, a Maryland native, theater grad school major, and all-around good guy, joins his family’s restaurant & bar, “Sisson’s” located on Cross Street in South Baltimore.
Craft beer wasn’t even on the radar back then. But, Hugh quickly recognized that to run a business, you need to do something to be different.
Light bulb moment: “What if we turned Sisson’s into a brewpub and brewed our own beer?”
Solid plan, right? Problem: Brewpubs weren’t legal in Maryland at the time.
In 1987, Hugh worked with Maryland legislators to draft a bill to legalize brewpubs in Baltimore City – the bill passed on first attempt. Fast forward to 1989, “Sisson’s” becomes the first brewpub in the state of Maryland.
After the brewpub scene for a few years, Hugh felt the need for a bigger stage (theater-pun intended.) In 1994, he left “Sisson’s” for his next business venture… and the rest, friends, is nothing short of Maryland craft beer history"

35,5 cl can @ Timo A, BBE 30.03.2022 Aroma is rather odd with very heavy and sweet fruitiness. Feels like cleaning liquid or a box of marmalade. Flavour has cleaning liquid, citrus, toffee candy. Finishes with grapefruity tones. Foamy palate. Too stuffy and sweet; drinkability suffer.

Can sourced from Craftbeer-Shop.com and drunk at home (16/10/2021) - New 🇺🇸 brewery ✅ hazy golden orange with a white head. Sweet fruity and malty with citrus and tropical fruit, notes of tangerine and papaya, medium body, bitter edged hoppy close. Alright.

Can 35,5 cl. Pours an orangey golden with a small, off-white head. Massive orange and tangerine aroma - lovely and intense, but is it also natural? Fairly light body, again loads of orange citrus notes. But then commes a mind-numbing astringency rushing in - like chewing only the white parts of a grapefruit peel. Extremely bitter and unpleasant. 181021

Pours reddish purple with a two finger head. Aroma of tart berries. Sweet tart flavor with berries and currants readily apparent. It’s nothing special but it’s good.
