Description
"It all started in 1980… Hugh Sisson, a Maryland native, theater grad school major, and all-around good guy, joins his family’s restaurant & bar, “Sisson’s” located on Cross Street in South Baltimore.
Craft beer wasn’t even on the radar back then. But, Hugh quickly recognized that to run a business, you need to do something to be different.
Light bulb moment: “What if we turned Sisson’s into a brewpub and brewed our own beer?”
Solid plan, right? Problem: Brewpubs weren’t legal in Maryland at the time.
In 1987, Hugh worked with Maryland legislators to draft a bill to legalize brewpubs in Baltimore City – the bill passed on first attempt. Fast forward to 1989, “Sisson’s” becomes the first brewpub in the state of Maryland.
After the brewpub scene for a few years, Hugh felt the need for a bigger stage (theater-pun intended.) In 1994, he left “Sisson’s” for his next business venture… and the rest, friends, is nothing short of Maryland craft beer history"

Hazy pink pour. The aroma is mostly tart raspberries. Flavor is nicely tart with raspberries up front with lemons and some malty sweetness. Easy drinking. Refreshing.

Hazy yellow-gold pour. Pleasant citrus hop aroma. The flavor is citrusy and hoppy with ample malty sweetness. It's a fairly good hazy ipa though nothing special.

12 ounce bottle. Bright amber gold pour. Small frothy beige head. Earthy, woody malt aroma hints at mint. Flavor is reminiscent of toasted malt with floral, grassy notes. Typical British ale character. Decent.

Bottle from Systembolaget. A smashing IPA that provided good hazinessbwirh strong balanced hoppage. (15/2/21). ---- Can from Publix, Augusta. This is my 5th can of this and I have enjoyed every can. This is a cracking IPA that I could drink for dayz, as I have. Aroma is exactly how it should be, musty fruity hops. Nice deep gold. Taste is pretty spot on and good boozy bitterness. Everything is in good balance as it should be. Kept at 4.1. Great IPA.

One of the more unique BiBs I’ve had: vanilla chai. Thoroughly enjoyable tho certainly not something I’d want to drink often. They did it very well, though. Chai is smooth but very present. Collab with Patuxent, a Black-owned brewery. ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

12 ounce bottle. Opaque black color. Small creamy beige head. Roasted malt aroma hints at coffee and bourbon. Flavor mirrors aroma. Roasted malt, bourbon and dark coffee. Sticky mouthfeel. A hint of chocolate in the boozy finish.

Gott
