Reddish brown colour, not much head. That is a nice chewy crystal malt and toffee aroma with earthy c hops. Bourbon hits big, it isn’t sweet enough to be refined but it’s solid.

Dark brown, sweet coconut, medium bitterness, decent stout, especially for the price point.

12 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of rye whiskey barrel character, with toasted malt and earthiness underneath. Flavour is mostly a function of the rye whiskey barrels, which come across slightly spicy and earthy, with moderately sweet—but not roasted—malt underneath. Actually a somewhat thin body, but the rye whiskey character is so nice that the thinner body doesn’t matter. Very good.

12oz can. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Rye barrels and subdued malts on the nose. Flavour has a very nice, pronounced rye whiskey character, good malt base, and some sugars floating around from the whiskey barrels. Very nice, I really like how the barrels are expressed here.

Hazy. Fresh, bitter, nice floral hop note, somewhat tropical and grapefruity. Well balanced.

16 oz. can, pours jet black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out lots of rich roasted malt, earthy hops, and dry cocoa nibs. Flavour is full-on roasty, with a nice woody roasted malt, some earthy hops, and dry cocoa powder. Great roasty character, finishing dry. Very good.

16 oz. can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose is full of dank hops, resins, some oily pine, and just enough biscuity malt. Flavour is super dank and oily in the hop department, with some pine, and just enough biscuity malt to back. Really lovely dankness. Excellent.

Dark brown. Thin head. Has a nice bourbony accent, sweet but balanced malt character. It has a bit of heat in the finish but is otherwise a solid BA impy.

On tap at Single Hill Commons, pours a mostly clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has gentle dank hops, fresh leafy notes, and some onion. Flavour is laid-back, with leafy hops, a hint of dankness, and doughy malt. A bit timid but clean and fresh enough. Solid.

On tap at Single Hill Commons, pours a mostly clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is dank, with plenty of pot-like hops, bright pine, and some biscuity malt. Flavour is fresh, with lots of dank hops, doughy malt, and a touch of pine. The Chinook and Mosaic don’t come across how I’m used to in the usual dry-hop versions, but I’m happy with their expression here.
