Quite pale, slight haze. Thick head. Has that nice chinook bitterness, slightly gloppy malt sweetness, but also there’s a touch of sulphur…chinook struggling as an aroma hop.

Dark brown, medium head. Decent body, lots of burly rye, some sweet malts. A bit hot. Decent, but maybe not the refinement of some of their other stouts.

Pale, dull hazy, mild gloppy malt, low bitterness, ok, not the best balance.

12 oz. can, pours a deep dark burgundy with a small beige head. Nose is somewhat like an old fashioned, with intense orange peel, some cherry liqueur, gentle bourbon, and dark dried fruits. Flavour is cloyingly sweet, with intense cherry syrup, light orange peel, light bourbon, dark dried fruits, and tons of sugars. Way too syrupy and sweet. What happened here? Regular BA Parallax was so awesome; this is a shell of that beer.

US Pint can in a wine bar in Seattle on 16th August 2025. Clean and clear pale golden blonde body, white crust. Soft feel to the citrus fruit flavours and semi-sweet malts. This went very well with pitta bread and Lamb Meatballs in Tomato sauce.

On tap at Last Drop, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops and dank hops, with a biscuity malt. Flavour has a nice piney hop character, crisp biscuity malt, and a touch of resins. Nice piney, resinous hop expression, finishing lightly dank. Excellent.

On tap at Chuck’s Seward Park, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a nice gentle piney hop expression, some grass, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is similar, with gentle piney hops, biscuity malt, and a touch of grass. Pleasant hop expression, though more like a timid IPA than a pils. Solid.

16 oz. can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is bright and tangy, with lots of gooseberry hop tang, bright pine, and some dankness. Flavour is bright and tangy, with tangy white wine-like hoppiness, moderate dankness, pine, and soft biscuity malt. The NZ-hops–especially Nelson–dominate, while the dank, piney, WC hoppiness is more in the background. Beauty.

473mL can. Pours clear pale gold with a white head. Tons of woody pine and tangy white wine on the nose. Flavour has dry woody pine, tangy white wine grapes. The NZ hop expression here is excellent; phenomenal.

Pale, quite weedy, terpy, and a fairly robust pale malt for balance. Decent bitterness.
