Tall boy from 604. Always in the mood to try a mead(or cider) one-off from a brewery though. Most are between passing & terrible, but you get to judge their commitment to quality & sometimes you are really surprised. Scary, neon candy cane pink head over a hazy magenta body. It settles fairly quickly. Inviting berry syrup, sugary lime, faint bitterness, fumy. Juicy, upfront half-tart fruit, prickly lime, waxy & slick honey remnants. The honey itself is lingering but not bold. Honey is earthy, still holding on to some sugar to meld with the runny berry juice that lingers through till the end. The sweetness isn't sticky or cloying at all. Crisp medium carbonation that stays on. Medium-high acid. Add in the obvious wax. Yeasty entrails can easily be avoided. Surprising body for a small mead. Pretty good.

Bottle from Appalachian. Can't tell how old it is. Goblet @home. Light lace, Lipton tea body. Rich, smooth, orange & chocolate, dark fruit, mellow vanilla. Taste is way thinner than expected: wafer, smooth vanilla, very mellow barrel, bitter chocolate, lingering aspirin finish. Okay to low carbonation, thin-ish, mellow abv for the list. Solid.

Bottle from Whole Paycheck. 10.2% 2020 edition. Stemless wine glass @home. Dark tea, russet hue over cola. Thought it would look heavier. Sweet, acidic, cola, boozy nose. Acidic, char, whiskey sweetness. Cola, ash, undefined bitterness, not a lot of vanilla, lingering birch, yeast & booze. Somewhat thin, low carb but frothy, very strong for what it is. Too sweet, too straight.

The Aromas of molasses and rum are forward with dark malt right behind that and a little roast. Flavors are similar to nose, sweet with little bitterness, some solvents in the Finish. Body is a touch thin which makes the carbonation show up stronger. Okay beer wouldn't go out of my way for it again though.
