Hazy bottle pour at the source. Pint glass, whatever. Having this after a garlic pizza, so my skills might be off. They offered to keep the second half chilled, how sweet.

Bottled 4/3/26
Dirty brown, lingering soft suds.
Heavy clove & big malt backbone. Soft all-spice, gluten, sugary residual, a little cream.
Slightly too heavy but a hearty dubbel is still enjoyable. Middling carb, too sweet, a touch of warming.

Good stuff.

Neutral ground meet-up with the in-laws. At the source.

Copper amber, frothy, active & slightly opaque.
Sweet, maple-y, bitter herbal nose.
Taste is bittersweet, high acid, herbal, calcium, with some strong lingering astringency.

Solid, if slightly too astringent.

On tap at the source while negotiating hostages with the in-laws.

Pint glass Clean half pour, killed the keg. Yeasty second fresh keg.
Active, medium gold, nicely frothy.
White grapefruit, tannic middle & a lot of dank upfront. Oily citrus pith lingers nicely.
Very classic Cs.
Frothy, first pour was clean & laced with iodine, second was hazy & obviously softer.

Very okay to good.

They call this a black ale.

Off-black, fizzy pour at the source with family eagerly looking to slip away. The house is playing barnyard bingo & I am embarrassed yet infatuated.

Ashy, cigarettes, milky texture.
Off sweet, lactose, cola, tons of char.
Some extra acidity, thin, less than great drinkability.

Okay.

Pale yellow with a sharp, musty aroma. Mild horse blanket flavor with a sweet and spicy taste underneath. Funky finish.

Opaque copper color, lasting thin head. Malty, floral and herbal aroma. Taste is slightly caramel sweet with a mild, funky overripe fruit flavor. Dry, roasted grain finish.

08/18/20 Bottle from the brewery. Conditioned with honey as is many/most of their brews. Wine glass @ home. Clingy, eggshell head over an opaque, mellow herbal tea/browned butter-like colored brew. More milkshake-y on the second pour. Smells of lime-y mineral water & peppercorn. Dry & slightly parching malt. Strong soapy & zesty bitterness, like if you ever reused lime slices in a water bottle. Some people will like that. Frothy, starchy, but a bit thin. Boozy, herbal finish. More plant like bitterness as it warms. Nothing fancy or curious, but it drinks well. Pricey in retrospect @ $13 for 750ml.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Number one with a bullet. Earthy, bready malt aroma. Favor follows nose. Dank citrus, lemon and crusty bread. Some yeastiness as well.
