Description

Sampled @ NL Speciaalbier Festival Den Bosch 2017. Murky orange color, full sized thick white head that leaves good lacing. Yeasty lightly floral aroma with a hint of orangepeel. Taste malts, orangepeel, yeast, lightly sweet. Average to decent body and carbonation. Meh. Too yeasty and roo much orangepeel for me.

Bottle @ home shared with kermis. Gusher! Opaque murky dark brown color, full sized bubbly beige head. Aroma is sweet raisins. Taste malts, slightly sweet, in the background there’s some notes of dark fruits, but I don’t get the coffee and perhaps just slightly milk chocolate powder in the distance. High fizzy carbonation gets in the way of the flavor. Meh. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bossche Bol on 01 May 2016 at 07:13 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Original review text: Sampled @ Nederlands Speciaalbier Festival, Den Bosch 2016. Very dark brown color, medium sized light brown head. Smell and taste malts, light roast and light smoke, some unexpected sweetness which indeed reminds me of chocolate. Decent body and carbonation. Well done.

Bottle shared thanks to Benzai. Very dark brown with a huge "Dean Pour" (TM), bubbly tan head. Aroma of cocoa powder, overripe dark fruits and cardboard notes. Flavour is heavy sweet. Light medium bodied with moderate high fizzy carbonation. [18-08-2016]

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Hazy amber-ish color, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, a bit dusty, caramel, sweetish initially, slightly bitter in the finish. Decent body and carbonation. Drinkable.

Bottle @ benzai. Slightly hazy yellow to amber colour with a small white head. Smells spices, herbs. Tastes sweet and spices. Kinda meaty. Weird. Medium body, soft carbo.

Flesje gedeeld met Benzai. Roestbruin, beetje troebel bier. Beige schuim is redelijk vlug weg. Smaak van salmiak met fruit. Zoet tot kleverig in de mond. Smaak ebt snel weg.

Bottle @ home shared with Inoven. Rusty amber brown color, medium sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, sweet, brown candy sugar. Can’t say I can taste the raisins in the finish as the label says. Decent to medium body, average to decent carbonation which suits the beer well. Ok dubbel.

Black with creamy head. Flavour has some sweet floral herbal notes. Also bittersweet coffee and roasted malts.

Black with thin head. Probably more sweet than bitter but certainly has nice dark roasted malts in the aroma. For a sweet beer it is surprisingly drinkable.
