Tap at Taphouse, Copenhagen (23/02/2024) - New 🇺🇸 brewery ✅ big sabro prominence with rich juicy pineapple from the off, supporting layers of mango and tangerine, splash of passion fruit, sweet malty backbone, touch of blueberry into the solid hoppy finish. Lovely first impression.

The local beer shop continues to get False Idol beers in their inventory. So I buy them and try them. A 16 oz can opened and pouring. I see a hazy yellow liquid completed by a healthy top of arctic white foam. The nose provides plenty of tropical and enough hoppiness to register. The taste continues and improves on the smell. Pineapple, hops, melon, plantains, some cedar background and a touch of grapefruit. Better than most in the style, still not a style I am crazy about.

Draft. An unclear golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of spices, hops, citrus fruits, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus fruits, hops, spices, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

In front of me is a pint can that I got from the local beer shop, probably overpaid for it, what are you going to do? My Great Heights snifter is in place, I make the pour. A semi-transparent, orange-gold body with an appropriate top of snow white foam. The scent is mostly tropical with citrus thrown in. The taste goes a different direction, for the good I think, a bit more punch. Honeydew melon, berries, the hops working their way through, some lemon and dry crackers. Enough bitterness to account for. Okay beer for the style which is not top of my list.
