About
The Knoblach inn has been in Schammelsdorf since 1880 and it has been brewing there for about this long. Today Michael Knoblach is the resident master brewer. The Knoblachs are deeply rooted in their homeland and maintain good contact with regional suppliers and farmers. They attach great importance to preserving and actively promoting the diversity of the Bamberg region. For this purpose, the raw materials are, as far as possible, bought exclusively from the region. This not only has the advantage of boosting the domestic economy, but is also reflected in the quality. The ingredients couldn't be fresher.

Tap at Zlý Časy. Golden body leaning slightly towards amber with a lasting white head. Bready maltiness dominates the aroma, full, simple, effective. The taste is similarly under its sway, with some mild flowery and herbal notes being added along with a teeny tiny bitterness. A good lager by all means, but didn't thrill me as much as I hoped it would.

Keg at Zum Franziskaner. Dark golden with a medium white head. Aroma and taste of bread, malt, light fruit and grass. On the sweet side and with a medium body.

Keg at Zum Franziskaner, Stockholm. Clear amber, mid sized head. Bready nose with some grass. Mid sweet with medium to full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Lots of bready malt, mild and edgeless. Mid bitter finish.

Anstich @ Butcher's Tears. Mostly clear brown colour. Dense tan head with good retention. Aroma's of toasted bread, roasted malt, light fruit. Flavour is roasted, light sweet and light bitter. Light bodied. Roasty/toasty finish with light moderate bitterness.

Many thanks for this marzenbier to Mariusz. Faktycznie zero slodu dymionego, jasna klarowna barwa, ze spora czapa piany. Srednie w odbiorze, natomiast sporo lepsze niz inne piwa marcowe.

On tap at Ma Che Siete. Clear light amber colour, creamy off-white head. Aroma of crisp malts, light toffee, soft grassy notes, minerals. Flavour is soft, light sweet, some toffee, malty, just light bready, grass, light floral, firm bitterness. Light bodied, smooth. Really subtle and tasty.
