Description
A team of Faroese entrepreneurs are collaborating on building the islands’ latest brewery, located in the country’s capital, Tórshavn.

The brewery is called OY, a shortened word for “oyggj(ar)”, which means “island(s)”.

OY’s production capacity stands at approximately 1.2 million litres. In Faroese terms, it will be one of the islands’ biggest breweries. Internationally, it qualifies as a microbrewery.

OY will look to establish itself in the Faroe Islands first and foremost. In time, the plan is to start exporting its products.

Initially, OY will primarily focus on brewing and selling mainstream beers like pilsner, strong beer, IPA, and cider. Once those are up and running, special beers will also be added to OY’s beer catalogue. OY will function as a brewpub, offering beer tasting and tours, and will include a small shop with OY merchandise.

Draught @ MBCC 2022, Copenhagen. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Fresh biscuit and crackers. Pomelo melon and slight grassy hop bitterness. Excellent clean and dry finish.

Draught @ MBCC 2022, Copenhagen. Pours golden yellow with a small white head. Toffee and green apples. Something went wrong with this one - the regular edition was excellent.
