Based in Cambridge, MD on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, local boys brewing local beers. RAR is shorthand for ReAle Revival, and we first opened our doors in August of 2013 by our co-founders Chris Brohawn and J.T. Merryweather. We built our brewery in an 80-year-old former pool hall and bowling alley with the goal of maintaining the building’s history while producing well-balanced American brews 10 barrels at a time. Draft at Lost & Found. Closest I’ve come to a German here (other than Live Oak), near perfect all around except for the pour. Wonderful consistency and feel, basic essences of banana and clove are present. Just need a half liter pour in a weizen glass to be sure.

Can at R.F.D. Perhaps mid-Atlanric IPA needs to be a new category. Not as hoppy s the NW, not AS juicy as New England.. mellow but flavorful.. Not a palate crusher.

Can thanks to Brandon. Pours a cloudy orange with small off white head. The aroma is tropical fruit, melon, dank, pine. Medium body, juicy, mango, pineapple, pine, orange zest, light bitterness, very nice.

Can thanks to Brandon. Pours a very dark brown with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong mint, roasted malt, dark chocolate, brownie. Thick body, fudge, wood, vanilla, mint, nice sweetness, boozy, very nice.

Draft at TWS in Bmore. Black with a tan head. Aromas of rich, slightly sweet and syrupy Cocoa. Very airy light mint on the nose. Flavor again has that slightly sweet syrup richness in a light body. A very nice thick and rich sweetness. Very long toothpaste-like mint finish. Mint is tough to do but I think they pulled it off.

On tap at the brewery, pours a muddy cola brown with a ring of white head. Nose has the promised chocolate and malt, some rootbeer. Not too much mint. The flavor has an herbal/witchhazel note, I guess that’s the mint, chocolate, birch beer, malt. Finishes slick and a little herbal.

Canned on 12.06.16. Just slightly hazy, big head. This is a grainy, less estry version of a hefe. It’s dry grain with dry banana toast. Not burnt just dry banana. Flavor is mineral, overly clean banana mineral. Ehh, I’m just so not into this beer.

On tap at the brewery pours a murky peach gold with just a ring of white head. Nose is cool, plenty of the good IPA base, honey, grapefruit, lemon candy, some muddled berry is there too, perfume, candy wax. Flavor is nice, oats, berry, fruit roll up, melon, mango, hand soap. Finishes bitter and dry. Well done.

On tap at the brewery pours a clear, dark gold with a ring of white head. Nose has ginger and cardamom, mild candy, some honey, chai. Flavor has just a little sweetness, some pepper, but then ginger and cardamom, curacao orange. Finishes dry and zippy.

Nice stuff. Bitter pine, some grapefruit and just a little note of strawberries. Real fruit works with fake fruit like a blurry photo of a fruit basket. Pours hazy orange with good head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Tap at Maxs.
