On tap at brewery. Hazy dark brown color. Creamy tan ring. Sweet dark malt aroma has an oaky, whiskey nose. First sip is overly sweet and woody. Some smokiness and then a hint of whiskey. Notes of black tea, brown sugar, caramel and light soy sauce. The 11% ABV starts to emerge as the brew warms. Hoping this will improve with added aging. Somewhat unrefined as of this tasting.

On tap at brewery. Number one with a bullet. Barely translucent dark brown color. Creamy beige cap. Roasted malt nose hints at dark chocolate. Flavor is more of the same. Dark chocolate, tobacco, coffee and a bit of resiny pine. Some stickiness on the palate. Rich and roasty.

16 ounce can from brewery. Sippin on the beach in Wildwood Crest. Number one with a bullet. Hazy orange gold color. Frothy beige head. Tropical fruit aroma. Flavor is sweet citrus, pineapple and mango. Some piney hop bitterness on backend. Tasty.

On tap at brewpub. Copper red pour. Small creamy beige head. Toasted malt aroma hints at caramel. Flavor is sweet toasted malt with notes of caramel and spice. Medium bodied. Nice balance and flavor.
