About
Sörműves Kft.

Horizont Brewing is an innovative, indepentent craft brewery, one of the first big names in the craft brewing scene in Hungary. With many medals earned, we are proud to announce that Horizont Brewing was the first mid-European brewery to win the Alltech Craft Beer Cup in 2017 in Dublin. The Sailor Belle, a Belgian Witbier fermented with Saison yeast, is still one of our bestsellers.

What we like is the versatility of our consumers. Our beers are gladly consumed by beer connoisseurs and everyday beer drinkers, and we created our beer portfolio to fulfill everyone's beer needs. Our beers are available in all Michelin star restaurants in Hungary and can be found in most of the craft beer bars around Budapest.

We believe brewing is an art form.

We try expressing that through our labels as well not only by whats inside on the bottles. For that reason we worked with a local artist who created artworks we used on our labels, specifically capturing the essence of the character of the beer on the canvas.

Can at Monyo Land, courtesy of the Hori crew. Pours opaque golden with a white head. Nose is grassy, somewhat fruity hops. Taste is low to moderately bitter, showing fresh cut grass, light fruits, citrus zest and faint pine. Closes with a moderately bitter, zesty finish, has a light to medium body that's pleasantly rich for the ABV and soft carbonation.

Can at home, courtesy of the Hori crew. Opaque golden pour, white head. It really is like an ice tea mixed with beer: it's citric, tart and refreshing with an apparent yet not overwhelming tea touch. Light, easy to drink, perfect for these unbearably hot summer days. I could drink a LOT of this.

Can at home, courtesy of the Hori crew. Burgundy pour with a quickly dissipating head. Nose is moderate liquor notes, I'd say rum dominates of the two, apart from this there's cherry, light cinnamon and light booze. Taste is sweetish and boozy first, then it shows moderately tart and jammy cherries with hints of rum, cinnamon and lactic notes. Didnt get much of the whiskey or vanilla. Konyakmeggy. Tasty, but I was expeecting slightly more from this as it sounds highly intriguing.

Can at home, courtesy of the Hori crew, thanks a lot! Pours hazy orangeish golden with a white head. Nose is mild sweetness, showing faint honey, herbal notes, tangerine and grass. Taste is sweetish, showing a malty character and hops, mainly tangerine, orange jam, grassy notes and citrus zest. Closes with a sweet finish, has a medium body and soft carbonation. Not the usual NE-hop profile, it’s not bad at all, but not really my jam.

Tap at Kraft. Jet black pour with a tan head. Nose is intense spicy rum and wood, chocolate, lots and lots of it and coconut. Taste is immensely sweet but not cloying, showing rum and wood, chocolate, coffee, vague roasted malts, molasses, nuts and coconut. Closes with a long lasting, indulging sweet finish, has a huge, somewhat creamy body and soft carbonation. Lovely.

Tap at Kraft. Reddish pour with an off-white head. Nose is tomato and basil, legit pizza aroma. Taste is tomato upfront, moderately tart, then the basil hits and it’s a margherita all over again. Closes with a rather salty finish (fits the taste profile so no problem here), has a light body and soft carbonation. While I’m not particularly fond of tomato this is exactly what it promises to be so no complaints.

Tap at Kraft. Beautiful, murky orangeish golden pour with a thick white head. Nose is tropical fruits, stonefruits, light white grapes and a touch of grass. Taste is sweetish hoppy, showing herbal notes, tropical fruits, white grapes and some citrus zest. There's a hint of bitterness in the finish that's otherwise sweetish and lasts long. Thick, creamy bodied with soft carbo. Nice.

Can at home. Semi opaque golden pour with a white head. Nose is sweetish booze and hay with hints of citrusy hops. Taste is mainly sweet, showing hay, honey and lotta booze with lighter bitter touches, some citruses and fruity notes. Closes with a slightly sticky, sweet finish, has a big body and soft carbonation. Too sweet with the hops being way too subdued.

On tap with nitro. Pours jet black with a magnificent beige head. Nose is chocolate, light roasted malts with a hint of raspberry. Taste is sweetish malty with a hint of lactose, showing chocolate, cocoa powder and lightly acidic raspberry. Closes with a chocolatey, fruity finish, has a light, creamy body that's enhanced by the nitro. Sessionable even at this ABV, nice.
