Bottle@Chris and Ruth’s Pre-GBBF 2015, London - (big thanks to Black Haddock for this) dark brown pour with beige head. Toasty malty aroma and taste, big sweetness with this, lots of caramel sweetness, bit basic.

Bottle share at Chris & Ruth’s pre- gbbf shindig, 2015. Amber pour with a white head. Pineapple and toffee aroma with the toffee continuing into the flavour. Too sweet for me.

Bottle at ChrisO Pre-GBBF, many thanks to the Haddock of Black. It pours clear amber with a small off-white head. The nose is watery, wet wood, leaf, grass and leather. The taste is crisp, bitter, toasty grain, bread, cereal, light spice, wood and leather with a short, dry finish. Light body and fine carbonation. A bit wishy washy. Simple, but not terrible. Good country tick though!

Pre GBBF tasting as Chris and Ruth’s. Big thanks to BlackHaddock for the Gibraltar tick. Bright clear gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Slightly grainy malts. Some unsweet floralness. Traces of tang dried fruits. Little paper. Light dry finish. Tired.

500ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Bottle Share, June 15, courtesy of Señor Haddock. Pours deep amber with an off-white head. Brewed with hops grown on the Rock of Gibraltar, although the hop presence seems modest at best. More of a woody malt character with a light bitter edge. Not the best beer of the evening.

500ml bottle: BBD 28 Oct 15. Brought back from Gibraltar by my father for me, I in turn shared it with three friends at the June Shrewsbury Bottle Share meeting. Amber body with a copper hue, an off-white head sat proudly on top. Slight malt lead to a pretty boring blend to be honest. Wanted and expected more flavour and character from the label build up. The Gibraltar hops must have been grown in a window box or something similar as their influence is negligible to say the least. Disappointing.
