Tap at the brewery - lots of off stuff about this - some weird smoky/plastic stuff going on - strong alcohol burn - astringent hop bitterness, but surprisingly low hop flavor - messy.

Bottle shared in the Referend 1st Anniversary line share, 12/2/17.
"Thick", inky, dark ebony pour yields very little head.
Gooey fudge to start yet dried out immediately by dry wood, strong alcohol and oak. Raisin, vanilla, bitter cacao and long vanilla on the finish.
In the mouth it's full of liquor and wood, with strong chocolate, chewy maple-toffee and drying alcohol. It's not syrupy, which is great, not even very fudgey, but the balance is achieved by heavy roast and alcohol. Some sweetness lingering. Slick to creamy texture, good attenuation. Engaging carbonation and not messy or syrupy. I'm afraid it doesnt do a whole lot more for me, but is pretty nice overall.

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Thanks Chad! Pours a thick, deep brown to black color with a finger of beige head that lingers. Lots of coffee and cacao nib in the nose with some godiva dark chocolate aromas and faint marshmallow as it warms. Smooth on the palate, with a dark kit-kat malty undertone with liquid brownie and coffee. Cacao nib on the finish that coats the palate and lingers.

Can from Brewcraft at home. Hazy opaque soft slightly dull yellow pour with minimal head. Aroma is fizzy citrus with lots of sweet tropical mango - very nice. Taste follows - bitter fizzy citrus peel with juicy sweet mango (less tart) and a bit of alcohol. Palate is smooth and juicy with some pithy fizz. Very nice - haven’t had many NE DIPAs but this hits the notes I’d expect, in a good way. Not at all worth HK$100 for a tall boy but worth a try for sure.

10 ounce at the brewery - these guys tend to nail imperial stouts - this one is not an exception - the description made me worried it would be overly sweet, but there is a ton of roast and smoke, and finishing bitterness to really round out and balance this - deep espresso, charred marshmallow, vanilla, dark chocolate - finishes moderately bitter and mildly acidic - this is tasty stuff.

10 ounce at the brewery - lightly hazy gold - nose is musky brett, mildly sweet pineapple, light pepper - light-bodied and dry, finishing tart, spicy, and funky - overall, flavor is a little thin and muddy, and the pineapple adds surprisingly little - some dull yeastiness, white pepper - eh.

Can thanks to Russ. Pours a cloudy gold with small white head that lasts. The aroma is pineapple, papaya, earth, pine. Medium body, juicy, dank, pineapple, dry bitter finish, very good.
