Aromas are in order, resin, citrus and apples. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, excellent balance between bitter, sweet and carbonation with a little umami. Really nice beer.

Draft pint at Trailside Tap, Ankeny, IA. Served with no foam, which just meant there was more room to pour beer into the shaker glass. Reddish brown beer color. Nose has caramel and maybe some wheat. Despite the lack of fizz, there is still some effervescence in the beer. Again, a taste of caramel that comes from plenty of malt. The taste becomes friendlier the further in I go. Halfway through, I am thinking of a bit of cherry cordial. A very filling malt bill, with maybe more American hop than the base style would call for. Happiness continues in the aftertaste, eventually offering notes of cocoa and whiskey malt.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours black with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong maple, cinnamon, roast, cocoa, booze. Slick body, similar flavors to nose, dry, sweet, very good.

The aromas are fresh citrus hops and a lot of caramel malt. Flavors are similar to nose, bittersweet with good carbonation and add in some apple.

Sampled from the tap at Pulpit Rock. Pours a clear red with a slight amber hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has slightly tart blueberry with a bit of creamy sweet grain and bread backing. Flavor has sweet grains and blueberry with a bit of cookie underlying.
