American Saint IPA 7.2% 55 IBU a deep cloudy orange gold. The nose is mild zesty fruity forestry hoppiness. Med-full bodied with a zesty fruity bitter wheat flavor. Quite smoothly bitter if that makes any sense. All in all a different take on an IPA.

The last train Baltic porter 8% 30 IBU on tap at Magpie Basement. It pours a deep black with a sweet chocolate nose. Silky full body. The taste is tangy chocolate syrup, tootsie roll & roasty chocolate flavor. Very nice.

6.4%. A hazed golden ale with a thin creamy lacing off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy resinous hops, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet biscuit malt with light grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, decent. On tap at brewery.

On tap at Magpie Brewing in Seoul. The porter was 1000 won more than their other beers but at 6000 won for a pint it is still cheap compared to Japan! It pours a nice dark brown color with a light beige head & a mild chocolate aroma. The flavor had bitter chocolate notes, quite good. My favorite of their 3 beers.

On tap at Magpie Brewing near Noksapyeong. It poured a beautiful clear copper color and at first had no real aroma but as it warmed up you got a mild hop aroma & could pick up the caramel from the malts. The flavor was a nice piney bitter hop taste, very clear & crisp. A nice sessionable beer.

This is Magpie’s Pale Ale. It poured a reddish gold with a nice citrus pine aroma. The flavor was malt with a crisp clean pine bitterness. Pretty good.
