500 ml bottle, bought in Bier Spezi Hamburg. Hazy orange colour, pours with the typical hefeweizen enormous head. Spicy aroma (cloves and more), hints of leather and ammonium too. Typical hefeweizen flavour but not quite as full as I desired. Rather dry, minimal hops. Fizzy and slightly dusty mouthfeel. Decent, but not the best h.w. I’ve had.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very classical unclear dark golden appearance. Very soft and smooth with only the faintest bitterness. All right but far from exceptionel - could do with a bit more personality. 190101

(Bottle 50 cl) "Alte Liebe" - what a cute name. And the small, fat angels do add some sugary sweetness to this beer. Otherwise this is very dark, and surprisingly dry for a Dark Hefe. And to add to the surprises it ends with a marked - if not exactly dominant - bitterness. Some fruity esters in there and some yeast, but not as much as expected. An unusual Dunkelweizen. 010101

A brown beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, wheat, and banana, and so is the flavor, but the body is thin. Below average Dunklesweizen.

Test vom 24.6.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 6,8,10,7,7,8 - 7,90

Bottle Strong chocolate malt with nice peach/banana aroma. A dark brown color with large tan head - pours thick. Sweet peach flavor initially that fades quickly into a slightly bitter chocolate malt flavor - a bit of a sharp, tangy finish. A different dunkelweizen - sweet but not too fruity.

Bottle. Dark brown/ruby colour. Rich off-white head. Malty and a little roasted smell. Has a smooth wheat taste though, some bitterness in the aftertastaste. Not a bad dunkel, but a bit to neutral.

Bottle. Strong banana/clove aroma. Yellow tan color - barely cloudy with small head. Slightly tart malt and banana flavor - highly carbonated. Not much body. Okay Hefe - would drink again but wouldn’t go out of my way to get it.
