Bottle at the Brewpub. One of the few remaining bottles of the ’05 batch that the barkeep busted out for us Hazy deep mahogany with a small off white head. Modeset sweet malty carmel aroma. Flavors were of soft ripe pittd fruits, brown sugar and sweet lightly roasted malts. Thick soft feel and very subdued hop notes. The 2 years in the bottle really settled this down. Would not have guessed 10%+

Draft: Pours a dark copper with a medium sized, creamy white head. Nice lacing. Nose is malty with light earth tones. Tastes sweet with malts and light in the earthy and floral areas. Just a bit of breadiness. Nice.

Draft: Pours a dark gold/light orange color with a light haze to it. Large white head is thick and leaves tons of lacing. Nose is moderate with floral hops. Tastes wet with hoppiness and hints of citrus. Nice amount of hoppiness in a extra pale.

Draft: Pours a clear amber color with a small beige head. Some of the stickiest lacing I’ve seen in a while. Nose is mild of herbal and floral tones, some hints of mint? Smooth taste features more florals, a little grassiness, malty, and well I guess that must be the cardamom. On a different path than other rye beers I’ve had, but good.

On Tap at the brewpub. Hazy light yellow amber with a lively white head. Bright hoppy aroma. Malts were light and pale and there was plenty of hop bitterness and decent flavor. Fairly dry and lively carbonation. Brisk and ssnappy and left a nice lingering bite.
