On Tap at the brewpub Very dark with a thin creamy tan head. Not very strong dark roast aromas and a rather faint smokey flavor as well. Thin smooth feel, not much hops and a littel biterness at the end. Not very robust but easy going down and fairly tasty

A hazy amber beer with a small orange head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of caramel and hops. The flavor is dry malty and very hoppy. A nice barley wine because of the hops.

Bottle Pours a hazy deep redish brown/amber with a modest creamy off-white head. Aroma is a pronounced dark malt and easy on the hops. Flavor is a nice dark malt/hop slightly spicybalance and goes down quite easy. Feel had good body and soft carbonation.

On Tap at Kahootz. A hazy medium dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is a strong hops and citric rind. Flavor is a very bold hoppy taste but full and balanced with malts. Fell is heavy and substantial, and the finish is the classic IPA bite. Glad to see a good offering from a local brewer.

2003 edition. Mike (BBB63) brought this Idaho beverage to Fort Wayne for a tasting. Has more of an American Strong Ale aspect with abundant piney, spicy hops in the aroma and flavor. The hops are balanced in the flavor by a sweet, caramely and lightly fruity malt backbone. Finishes bitter with citrus and pine. Developed woody characteristics as it warmed. The body was orange-brown, relatively clear, with a minimal off-white head. I enjoyed this English Strong Ale/American Strong Ale/Barleywine if only its ABV was higher elixir!
