Description
A small independent brewery based in Northern Ireland with a belief in simplicity and a knack for brewing pretty good beer.

Like many good ventures, Modest Beer was born in a parent’s garage in Holywood, County Down when Chris Morris, a tax accountant by day, brewed a small experimental batch of Kölsch for a friend’s restaurant. Within two years we moved to a much larger brewery in Randalstown. We never set out to brew the best beer in Northern Ireland, but maybe someday we will.

Can from the Low Cost Beer online shop. Pours hazy yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light tropical fruit and citrus. Taste is more of the same. Pretty standard gear.

Can from The Beerhive. Milky pale golden body with a white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of white grape and lemongrass. Flavour of lemon meringue and orange sherbet. Thin to medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Bright and zesty. Very nice.

Cloudy/hazy yellow gold with a frothy/bubbly white head and a peach and orange aroma. Pretty fizzy with a touch of pine, a little hop kick with citrus and stone fruit sweetness with a short dry bitter finish

Can at Branston. Hazy pale golden colour with white head. Aroma and taste are fruity citrus and slight pine. Light sweet. Medium body.

Thin white head on a clear pale golden coloured body. Minimal fruit aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a lively back. Bready, stone fruit, soapy, syrup & tangy citrus tastes with a lightly finish. Nice.

Fizzing off white head on a murky mango coloured body. Mango aroma. Medium bodied, soft & thinning out to sharp dry back. Mango, soda water & tangerine tastes. Unusual.

Rocky white head on a hazy dull golden coloured body. Faint mango & fruity aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & soft with a cloying. Mango, grain & peach tastes with a tangy, slightly bitter finish. Solid.

Pink hued foamy head left a spotty cover on a a pale plum coloured body. Berries, sherbet & sour aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & creamy with a sharp dry clean back. Blackcurrant, berries, chalky & sour tastes. Sour as Wizz - as we say round these parts.

Foamy off white head left a spotty cover on a hazy pale golden coloured body. Zesty, stone fruit & mango aroma. Medium bodied, soft with a foamy cloying back. Peach, lemon, zesty & satsuma taste with a tangy citrus finish. Excellent for the relative ABV.
