Description
We are a brewery, taproom, and beer garden in the Scott's Addition neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia.
Ardent Craft Ales began as a co-op in a Richmond garage, a space where we sought to create innovative beers and introduce others to historic brewing methods and beer styles. As a production brewery, our mission remains the same: to produce and celebrate exceptional and ambitious beers with the ever-growing craft beer community.

Crystal clear coloured body with a thinnish off-white head that fades relatively quickly, and still leaves a small lace on top after a few seconds. Aroma of very robust grainy and earthy malts with some nuts, funk and especially dry characteristics, along with a nice caramelised sugar scent that you'd expect, just not as strong as it is here. Medium-bodied; Robust earthy and especially nutty flavours come through at first with a grainy funk that shows through everything and brings out a little sweetness and a lot of cereal elements, especially after the initial nuttiness fades. Aftertaste shows a good deal of caramelised sugars and sweetness with a kick of malts, big time cereal and a good dose of earthiness, with some of the lager yeast still noticeable here. Overall, a pretty nice marzen with a dry and especially earthy and cereal-y bite with the associated nuts and sweetness here still of course, but a robust product that goes down relatively easily. Good to sample during the Oktoberfest season and incredibly locally. I sampled this sixteen ounce pint-sized can purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 24-Septenber-2021 for US$3,99 sampled on the train from Washington to New York before heading to Alaska on 04-October-2021.

Taster at Ardent. Hazy, pale yellow/ golden pour, skimpy head. Aroma is faint citrus peel. Taste adds some vanilla and sweetness, maybe lactose to smooth this out. Soft and approachable.
