On tap at Civil Society Anniversary. Pours a murky orange ruby with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is berry, floral, oak. Medium body, jammy raspberry, oak, funk, light tartness, very good.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a relatively thick tan and cream head, about three to four centimetres tall that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of crisp robust malts with some coffee, peated malt, chocolate and cream all noticeable with a lot of roasty malts with some nuts, earth, rustic characteristics and a dry yeastie characteristic that is crisp, but pungent. Medium-bodied; Strong nutty and very pungent grainy malt bites come through with a lot of yeast and some robust lactose with a relatively strong coffee and bitter notes with a dry oatmeal and nutty, hazlenut flavours with some rich pungency at the end. Aftertaste shows the strong flavours with a lot of grain, a dry, nutty, earthy and robust malt pungency with a lot of residual sugars, vanilla, coffee and peaty notes, but the end is enjoyable and complex, especially for a lager. Overall, a nice and rich beer that has a ton of pungent flavours and complexities, especially for a lager, but a sweetness and easy-drinking nature which makes this perhaps even better. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 09-September-2020 for US$3,50 sampled at my house here in Washington on 03-November-2020, drinking a great beer from the state of Virginia during Election Night 2020 in the capital of our fine country.

16oz can pours a bright yellow with a ring of white head. Nose has sunflowers, some corn, perfume. Flowers in the mouth, dandelion, corn, perfume. Finishes creamy.

An at home. Ok looking hazy yellow and pillowy head. Nose is fruity. Tastes of lemon, strawberry, mango, grassy, berry. No bitterness. Fruity finish. No zip to plate.

Growler from Meridian Pint. Poured a pitch black color with a small, lasting tan head. Aroma was super rich dark chocolate roast. Flavor was lots of roasted malts, some bakers chocolate, very light herbal character. Some alcohol, but really well hidden.

Very hazy golden, raw honey coloured body with an almost muddied glow with some bronze as well, with a fairly thin off-white head, one centimetre tall that fades very quickly to a super-thin layer. Aroma of bananas, yeast, grass, flowers and some hay, with a tiny bit of orange juice noticeable, as well as a dose of rich malts and alcohol. Medium-bodied; Strong syrupy rich sweetness up front that has a deep tangerine and clementine flavour along with some grapefruits and mangoes with a grassy bite and some slight astringent and floral quality, but the malt and alcohol provide a great balance, and the juice/sugars/fructose are the strongest. Aftertaste shows a very pleasant, juicy and slightly tropical (the mango flavour and richness comes through) flavour, with rich malts that provide a great balance for the deep hops, but everything seems to come together to make this full-flavoured, yet drinkable, sweet but not cloying and hoppy, but not bitter. Overall, a very nice 'new school' New England Imperial IPA thats on the right side of just about everything. Great to try locally and fresh! This one is worth trying to find if you like New England IPAs at all and live around the area - it's a very nice beer! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 24-August-2020 for US$3,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 01-September-2020.
