Can. Deep reddish brown with a cm of beige head. Aroma of brown bread, some chocolate and spices. Drier than expected with bread and hints of chocolate before quite punchy spicy bitterness. Refreshing.

Can. Pretty much black with a coat of tan head. Aroma of whiskey, dark sugars, some dried fruit. Bittersweet with bread, dried fruit, lots of oaked whiskey, modest bitterness. Obviously strong but little overt alcohol. Not all that much like a quad (if there is such a thing) but a very good beer in the spirit barrel aged barley wine genre.
