Can, from Broadway Dive Bar, Manhattan. (July 2024). I did not check the production date but the beer was fine. It poured cloudy golden yellow with a foamy off-white head, citrus-pineapple aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter citrus-pineapple taste, smooth thin body, long finish. Mellow and easy to drink.

Can from Tavour to shaker glass. Aroma is a nice blend of maple and chocolate, with coffee roast adding balance to the back. Pours black with deep brown head that fades to a collar of small bubbles with a very slightly dusting scattered over the top. Flavor is overt maple and vanilla. Roast from the coffee leans in heavily on the back half of the palate. Bitter, roasted finish that fades into a sweetness on the lips.

16 ounce can from Libby’s Liquors.Hazy orange gold color. Large, firm white head. Exquisite lacing. Fragrant fruity aroma. Bready malt backbone is balanced by a stellar lineup of tropical fruits. Pineapple, peach, tangerine, lemon and melon. Some minty hops in finish. Well done.

Can pour in trade with Steve. Opaque, inky black with light sparkle, nice viscosity, thin cap of head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is balanced sweet malt, coffee, maple syrup and vanilla. Taste is strong sweet malt and vanilla over more subtle maple and coffee. Smooth, thick, syrupy texture, soft carbonation, mild alcohol astringency and late mild warmth, with finish as taste. Aroma is better balanced though not as strong as taste. Alcohol presence in palate detracts. Still good.

16 ounce can. Jet black pour. Dan tan head is enduring. Sweet roasted malt aroma has obvious notes of maple syrup and vanilla. Flavor is dark chocolate fudge, maple, vanilla and coffee. Rich and flavorful.
