Description
Right Brain Brewery is nestled in the SoFo District of downtown Traverse City, Michigan. Our focus is on creating artisanally made, one-of-a-kind culinary inspired brews. If you taste something in our beers, like asparagus, cherry pies, or real pig, it's because we put it there using only whole natural ingredients; after all... extracts are for sissies.
Right Brain brews can be found throughout the state of Michigan in cans, bottles, kegs, and on draft. However we're not just beer lovers, we're art lovers too. We're advocates for anything creative, innovative, or odd. We Keep Beer Curious.

Made with five smoked pigβs heads. No shit. Dark brown. Hammy aroma with salt, maybe a little roast. Sweet, toffeeish, salty and slightly smoky. Batshit crazy beer. The pig and the porter donβt really go well together beyond the curiosity value, but that curiosity value is admittedly high.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a light tan head. Roasty coffee aroma with cocoa. Flavor again roasted coffee, cocoa, somewhat of a brown sugar note. Solid imperial stout, but it doesnβt really stand out.

On tap at the brewery. Pours brown with a light tan head. Very piney, herbal aroma against roast coffee. Flavor again leads with lots of herbal and pine hops, backed up again by roast coffee. Kind of thin for a black IPA, still nice, just not too exciting.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a bright red with a white head. Heavily soured aroma, mostly like vinegar. Flavor is again led by a vinegary, citric sourness, fading into some notes of roasted malt and dark fruit. Really very tasty.

Sampled from the tap at the MBGSF 2011. Poured a clear amber with a light brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of ginger with a light hop note. Flavor began with pine that balanced with the ginger that came out more in the finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Poured a clear caramel amber with a near white head that dissipated slowly to the edges and laced. Aroma was very booze with an amazingly strong bourbon note that overwhelmed everything else. Flavor was similar with strong bourbon and a bit of pine coming through as well as a hint of bread.
