310ml bottle courtesy of and shared with Tderoeck and 77ships. BB 26/02/2015.

310ml bottle courtesy of and shared with Tderoeck and 77ships. BB 11/2016. Lot#1.

Little cloudy blond to light orange beer, big creamy irregular yellow head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of honey, bit oxidized, sweet, alcohol, malty, some almonds. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: soft bitterness, some citrus, pretty fruity, honey, oxidized touch, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: some citrus, hoppy, dry, fruity, sweet touch, dried mango, a bit oxidized, but still a very beautiful beer!

22/V/15 - 31cl bottle @ Brazilian Tasting (home) - BB: XI/2016 (2015-660) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!

Hazy pinkish orange beer, creamy irregular white head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: CO2, very yeasty, bit sourish, sugary touch. MF: lots of carbon, too much to be good, medium to light body. Taste: bit sweet, fruity touch, lots and lots of yeast, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: little bitter, some citrus, more yeast and oh, did I mention the yeast on this one?

Thanks to Marlos. Obtained in a trade. 310 ml. bottle @ home. Saison made with cashew apple which I have never even seen let alone eaten – in Europe we only eat the seeds & mango? Pours a surprisingly pale golden, very fine bubbles, collapsing uneven, egg white head. Nose is oddly milky & very sweet fruit, lactic fruit sweetness which is very sweet + which I cannot even identify but far too lactic, sweet & weird for me, faint off brett. Mind you this is oddly lactic in a genuine fruit way & not a brewing error or overly yeasty type of way. Taste is bitter harsh fruit peel, odd dry peel, lactic harsh dry apple, dishrag brett, washing powder, chalky, unpleasant peel taste that coats your mouth, grainy washing powder, bad brett, odd vanilla sweetness on top,… Fine carbonation, grainy body that sticks to the inside of your mouth in an unpleasant way. A disappointment really, wow this combination of flavours does not work for me. Hard to drink even, not really a quality that I think anyone looks for in a saison.

A black beer, a head is small and dark brown. Aroma is powerfully, lots of salt liquirice, coffee, roastiness and pleasant sweetness, some fruits. Taste has strong coffee, roastiness and salt liquirice, the bitterness is drying the taste. Long end with coffee. Almost full bodied, low carbonation. Powerfully and intensive, the great beer.

Geruch sehr schokoladig, reife Früchte, Vanille, alkoholisch, viele Malzbonbons. Geschmack süß schokoladig, sehr vollmundig, Vanille, Toffee, reife Früchte, Kaffe, alkoholisch, sehr harmonisch, einfach klasse!

Shared with Kraddel. Obtained in a trade with Marlos. BBF 11/2016. Hazy orange, creamy white. Smell is heavy on lactic, spoiled yoghurt, spoiled raspberry yoghurt, hay, lactic,… very Berliner Weisse like nose. Taste is fizzy mineral, yoghurt, hay, strongly lactic, mineral, aftertaste carries brief sweet raspberry,… Lighter lactic body. This is way closer to a decent Berliner Weisse than anything that I would call a saison. Not bad but I am picky when it comes to Berliner Weisse.

Shared with Kraddel. Obtained in a trade with Marlos. Only readable part of BBF date is 2015 – not very useful. Pours a hazy orange with a big white head. Nose is big hazy milky sugar base, rather sweet with big yeast presence. Taste-wise it is a bit weird sugary, not getting any real mango fruit flesh, some bitter mango peel maybe, too much sugar, fruit character seems to be absent, light grass,… Body is yeasty. Okay but I def. expected more & more mango character for sure.

Pours unclear yellow. Small white head. Smell is raspberry, but with a sharp , funky back thats reminds of a Gose. Taste is Very sharp, clearly overcarbonated. Raspberry’s , perhaps a bit weak, but nice in profile ( not sweet nor sour, just natural and dry raspberry ) . Bit sweet finish but no clear hints of sugar.
