Keg sample at beer temple Amsterdam. Light hazed yellow green coloured pour with a halo of fine white head. Aroma is very punchy, perfume, poiperrie, verging on soapy, spicy ginger. Flavour is composed if wheat, spicy ginger, warming ginger in the finish, spicy lemon rind. Palate is crisp, highish carbonation. Interesting to try but a little soapy for me.

Nip bottle courtesy of tkrjukoff. Pours slightly cloudy golden with small wormwood particles leaving some thick legs on the glass. Smell is fruity, floral and herbal with honey, pale caramel, wormwood, fennel, moist soil, grapefruit rinds and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, heavy bitter, floral and herbal. Mouthfeel is oily, viscous, astringent, slightly boozy and medium to full bocied. Finish is sweet and heavy bitter with honey, grapefruit / lemon juice mix, wormwood, anise, orange zest and lemon zest. Really cool. I’m a huge wormwood booze fan and this very much hits that spot. Perhaps a bit heavy on the wormwood but I kind of like that. Another great sweet mead from Timo!

Bottle. Thanks, Timo! Light hazy hay yellow liquid. Aroma of honey, wormwood (bäska droppar), earth, flowers, citrus, licorice, light sweet alcohol and leather. Taste is medium sweet and highly bitter (from the wormwood) with notes of citrus, lemon, bright honey and wormwood. Medium to full bodied with no carbonation. Bit sticky. Wow, this packs a punch. Good thing I’ve had wormwood infused booze (bäska droppar and absinthe) before, otherwise this probably would’ve overwhelmed me completely. The base mead behind the wormwood is wonderful; citrusy, flowery and bright. The wormwood is a fun addition, however, I’d dial it down a notch for drinkability and to get more of the mead flavor through. Still, super fun to try, but it will probably take me the better part of an hour to down this 7.5 cl sample due to the bitterness. Really a sipper. I absolutely adore the base behind the wormwood.
