Description
Founded in 1900, Cervezas Ambar is an independent Spanish brewery that maintains the spirit of a constantly evolving family enterprise. With 18 beer varieties, it has more specialities than any other brand. It continues to produce beer at the same brewery where it began operations in the early part of the last century, located in the historic San José neighbourhood. There they maintain the craft processes of the 20th century, with their own malting facility and the only open vat fermentation room still in use anywhere in Spain.

Bottle 33 cl. Black with almost no head. Sweet malt, soy sauce, resin and toast bread. Sweet taste with less bitterness, sort of soy sauce end to it. Not bad

330ml bottle bought in Palma at El Corte Ingles (Rossello). Patchy head to a clear straw-yellow coloured body. Moderate grassy hops to the nose. Faint flavours of grass, grain and some fruits. Papery dry ending. Soft carbonated. Easy to forget (Port de Soller, 11.07.2013).

Not a pale ale but a lager and quite a reasonable one too. Pale blond colour. Light fruity taste and aftertaste. Low carbonation. Easy to drink.

A colablack beer with a medium and beige head. Aroma of sweet bread, some roastiness, molasses and rye bready sourness. Taste is quite unique, roastiness, only hint of malty sweetness, then it’s difficulty to defined bitterness and even burned nuancees. Almost medium bodied, medium bitterness. Weird nuancees, after the aroma there are better tones, "southern" Schwarz. Unique and quite interesting beer.

33cl bottle from Alko. BB 25.08.14. Dark brown, creamy, beige head. Roasted malty aroma with some brown sugar and burnt notes. Flavor has coffee notes with more roastedness, but also alot of sweetness. Fnish is then overly burnt notes and less sweet. Not very good.

Bottle. Pours orange, with a small, off-white head. Good, biscuity yeasts and banana esters. Apples, brown sugar, and some light earthy hops. Sweet and earthy, with some very light bitterness. Overall, this is a surprisingly complex and tasty pale lager.

Ein Lagerbier das sich als Dunkles versucht. Es hat wohl interessante Geschmackpunkte (primär nach Malz), aber ist zu unausgewogen, um eine allzu große Freude zu sein.
