Found at carrefour in 250ml bottles, 5.5% abv and exactly like the can pictured. I was wondering with baited breath what "prestige" beer tasted like.... and the way this stuff was priced, it certainly wasn’t "prestigious"! Pours very average into a flute glass, carbonated yellow, styrofoam head. Aroma of water, grains, cereal. Taste is a rotting maltiness, like they kept the malt in the water too long and it turned bad on them. Weak mouthfeel. Nothing interesting at all about this one.

Bottle 500ml.Clear light yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted, cardbord, paper. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration, cardboard. Body is light medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20100111]

Clear golden with a tiny white head. Malty aroma with hints of bread. Sweet flavour with malty and breadish notes. Finished dry.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is cornish and light grassy. Malty, light cornish. Sweet and a bit citric bitter. Dry hoppy and grassy finish.

Can 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear yellow with a huge and dense white head. Unclean malty nose. Medium body, a little low in carbonation with a very soft mouthfeel. Hardly any bitterness. 110110

21/12 0.5 l can. It poured golden body with medium sized head. Sharp artificial tequila nose, some citrus peel. Sweetish flavor, completely artificial sweeteners making some lemon-tequila environment. Typical for the style, yet not unpleasant at all, let’s say even refreshing with that bitterish, somewhat ugly finish. Not a beer anyway.

1/12 A 0.75 l bottle bought with Doggythedog somewhere in France. It poured slightly hazy body with smaller head that disappeared instantly. Sweetish apple aroma and flavor. Pleasant, but maybe slightly too sweet. Thinner in body with lot of carbonation. Leathery and fresh apples finish makes the impression on the cider better. I didn’t like it as Doggythedog did, but it was fine, although very average and nothing special.

Sample at the Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09: Canned version (as "1133 Biere d’Abbaye). The beer is a clear reddish-gold color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes quickly. Mild malt and yeast aromas. Light body with flavors of sweet malt, yeast and fruit. The finish is mildly spiced with a malt and yeast aftertaste. Barely average overall.

0.5l can (brewed at Saverne) found somewhere in France, shared with heavy. Poured a golden body with a medium sized persistent white head. Fine agrumey sweet nose, bit dusty, quite inoffensive for the "style". The taste is light and kinda refreshing but still lame. Agrumey, some bitterness in the finish, maybe a few tequila notes. A stronger radler that’s not too sticky, which is definitely a plus with these beers. Had worse.
